Okay, picture me carrying one of these (without the fancy bowl) in my lap while Joel pushes me around the hospital in a wheelchair- a wheelchair big enough to cart at least three of me.
This is what Joel wanted to get for a fun dessert today to celebrate the first time we got to have some time together in a week. I already felt a little silly seeing people's eyebrows raise as they see me holding this enormous dessert. But then, as we get off the elevator to head back to my room, who do we bump into on his way to see me? My doctor. Yep. And boy did his eyebrows raise and his lips curve into a smile! The first thing I did was blame this huge indulgence on Joel and then I laughed, stunned at our luck. My doctor thought it was pretty funny too. And when I told him my heartburn felt better today, he gave another look at the thing in my lap. So, I said to ask me again tomorrow.
He told me I needed a picture and that he'd be happy to take one for me on his phone, but I declined. I don't need a picture of it. I was embarrassed enough.
Joel and I laughed the whole way to my room and kept laughing for some time. It felt good to laugh that hard!
By the way, we did share it, and it tasted really good. It was worth the embarrassment.
P.S.- As I said, Joel and I got to spend some together today. He was here from 9:00 until 2:30, and it was wonderful! We talked and kissed a little (hee! hee!) and spent sometime sitting outside by the hospital's beautiful pond, ate greasy food I've been avoiding all week (again, heartburn might be calling again tomorrow), watched some Chuck and you know about the banana split already. It was so nice to have that time with him! I have the best husband in the world and still wonder how I got so lucky.

That's such a funny story. I'm glad you had a good day! I would love to come visit sometime. You have such a good attitude!
Oh my goodness! I saw on facebook that you were in the hospital, but this week was crazy. Anyway, now I'm free and I want to help. Put me to work! I'll be calling.
And I think the sundae was a great idea.
By the way, July 15th for him would be a great birthday (my birthday). It's easy for people to remember, since it's the middle of summer.
We all love you! Hang in there!
